R.E.M. - Teledyski
Można powiedzieć, że R.E.M. wyznaczyli punkt w historii muzyki, kiedy post-punk przekształcił się w alternatywnego rocka. Wraz z ukazaniem się ich pierwszego singla "Radio Free Europe" w 1981 roku, gitarowy pop powrócił do podziemia i stał się muzyką garażową, podobnie jak hardcore lub punk. Zanim w 1980 roku w Athens, w Georgii powstał zespół R.E.M., Mike Mills (gitara basowa) i Bill Berry (perkusja) znali się już ze szkoły średniej i grali wspólnie w kilku kapelach. W 1980 Michael Stipe (wokal) był studentem uniwersytetu w Athens i bardzo często odwiedzał sklep muzyczny Wuxtry, gdzie pracował Peter Buck (gitara).
